Lake-Valley Sports Media began in Fall 2023 as Northeast Ohio High School Football, with the goal of providing coverage to high school football programs throughout the region. By Week 3 of its inaugural season, the platform rebranded as Mahoning Valley High School Football. As its following continued to grow, coverage expanded beyond the Mahoning Valley to include schools throughout Ashtabula and Portage counties.
In January 2024, the platform took another major step forward, expanding beyond football to cover winter and spring sports and becoming the Trumbull Area Sports Network (TASN). Over the next several years, TASN grew into a year-round source for local high school sports coverage, highlighting athletes, teams, coaches, postseason runs, weekly performances, awards, and stories from communities across Northeast Ohio.
Founded by Porfirio Torres, the network was created from his own experience attending a smaller high school whose athletic programs often received limited media attention, particularly during losing seasons. That experience helped establish a mission that remains at the center of Lake-Valley Sports Media today: every school and every athlete deserves an opportunity to be recognized, regardless of school size, record, or level of success.
The network experienced significant growth during the TASN era, growing from approximately 1,000 social media followers in 2025 to more than 10,000 in 2026 while developing new partnerships and expanding its reach throughout the region.
On November 1, 2026, TASN officially became Lake-Valley Sports Media, beginning the next chapter of the network. The new identity reflects a broader regional focus, connecting communities from Lake Erie through the Mahoning Valley and beyond while continuing the mission that started it all in 2023.
New name. Bigger reach. Same mission.
